This smoothie is so dreamy! It has just three ingredients and is so simple to make! Instead of using sugar or orange juice concentrate this smoothie gets all its sweetness and orange flavor from whole oranges. This is the perfect vitamin C burst to start your day and it doesn’t hurt that it’s delicious too.
Orange Sunrise Smoothie
- 2 oranges, peeled and segmented
- 2 oranges peeled, segmented, and frozen
- ¼ cup half and half
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Add all ingredients to a blender, starting with the fresh oranges.
Blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until thoroughly combined.
Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
I’ve been in search of a good orange smoothie recipe for a long time. I like using whole fruits in my smoothies and it’s hard to get a strong orange flavor without orange juice. Using frozen oranges instead of ice keeps this smoothie very orange-y.
I used to think peeling oranges was the worst, but cutting them into eighths makes them easy to peel.
